Each Wednesday we will feature a place we are dreaming of visiting. If there are any places you think we need to know about, let us know!

I love the outdoors, I’ll go camping (as long as there are s’mores), and I enjoy a great hike.  But there’s much that comes with the camping territory I could do without – the scary bugs, bears, skunks, and snakes… just to name a few things.

I grew to love camping and the outdoors partly because my parents took us on a lot of camping trips growing up. Although, I complained when we went, crying that it wasn’t my fault I was born into a rugged family, I can appreciate all of it now. Still, I’ll take glamping over camping any day.

That time my parents took us camping on the AT.

Of course, I ended up with someone who loves camping and would rather camp over glamp.

Since Eric and I are about to do some serious camping throughout the U.S., I’ve made him promise there will be a few glamping stops scattered between our hard core camping.

I’ve had one place on my list for about a a year. To me it’s the ultimate glamping experience, – El Cosmico in Marfa, Texas. It’s a campground with beautifully refurbished vintage trailers, safari tents, and teepees.

What makes me fall in love with El Cosmico even more is that hotelier Liz Lambert wants it to be a “community space that fosters and agitates artistic and intellectual exchange.”

I’ve had my heart set on staying in one of these vintage trailers for some time now so I’m really hoping we can find a date that works with our road trip schedule.

I can’t wait to kick back and relax in the Hammock Grove and experience all that Marfa and El Comico have to offer.
